Government Incentives
From city council to the provincial government, there are several incentives available to help you build your business within Swift Current.
Municipal Incentives
Commercial Tax Exemption*
- 100% exempt in year one 
- 100% exempt in year two

- Corporate income tax rate as low as 10% on manufacturing and processing profits 
- Manufacturing, processing and exporting hiring tax incentives 
- No corporate capital tax 
- No payroll tax 
- No health premiums levied 
- 5% refundable investment tax credit on manufacturing and processing equipment 
- 10% non-refundable tax credit for research and development expenditures 
- 6% provincial sales tax – lowest rate of all provinces with sales tax 
- Provincial sales tax exemption for direct agents used in the manufacturing process 
Industry-Specific Incentives
Agri-Business
Saskatchewan Value-added Agriculture Initiative (SVAI) , is a non-transferable tax credit on capital expenditures valued at $10 million or more for newly constructed or expanded value-added agriculture facilities in Saskatchewan.
Saskatchewan Lean Improvements in Manufacturing program (SLIM) provides 50% cost-shared funding to a maximum of $500,000, and 50% of Lean Gap Analysis costs to $20,000 maximum.
Deadline to submit pre-approval application is Oct 31, 2027
Agriculture Development Fund provides project funding over $15M per year to public/private researchers
Renewable Energy
Clean Technology Investment Tax Credit provides up to 30% tax credit on eligible technology property until December 31, 2034.
